We are committed to growing our team, expanding the ways we can provide behind-the-scenes support and continuing to donate a percentage of our profits to causes that support mental health and wellbeing, including Mind.

Our Direction

Focus began as The VA Workroom, supporting small-to-medium businesses with administration, marketing and operations. Over time, it became clear that many of our clients thought and worked differently- in fact, around 80% of the people we now work with identify as neurodivergent, most often ADHD.

Rather than trying to make people “fit” traditional business models, we leaned into what we do best: creating systems that adapt to how people actually work. This thinking now underpins everything we do- from supporting individual business owners through to working alongside founders, CEOs and leadership teams within more established businesses.

This approach grew into our consultancy services and, ultimately, into our structured two-step pathway: clarity through review, growth through partnership and sustainability through ongoing operations.

Recognising the need for informed, thoughtful support, Emma also began collaborating with ADHD.uk- sharing expertise and contributing to greater understanding for business owners who had often felt overlooked or misunderstood elsewhere.

That collaboration continues today, strengthening our commitment to building businesses that support focus, clarity and long-term sustainability- for people with a wide range of working styles, leadership approaches and business responsibilities.

Emma Baker- Founder and Strategic Lead

Emma brings a rare combination of strategic thinking, organisational expertise and a deep understanding of neurodivergent business owners. With a background in sales, executive support and business management, she founded Focus to help entrepreneurs reclaim their time, reduce overwhelm and create businesses that truly flow.

Over the years, Emma has supported a diverse range of clients- many of whom are neurodivergent. She has honed an approach that embraces their strengths, while providing the structure and accountability needed to turn ideas into action. Working alongside psychologists and professionals has also deepened her knowledge of ADHD, dyslexia and neurodiversity, enabling her to support clients in a way that is both practical and empowering.

At the heart of her work is a belief that any business idea can succeed- if the owner is aligned with their vision. Emma works with the person before the process, helping business owners gain clarity on what they truly want from their business. Once that foundation is in place, the structure and systems can follow- creating not just growth, but a business that feels right and works in flow.

Jess Andrews- Business Administration Specialist

Jess is the steady hand that keeps things moving. With over 25 years of experience in business administration, she is highly skilled at bringing order to busy schedules and ensuring the details are always covered.

She has a natural talent for organisation and a creative touch when it comes to projects like events and social media- always adding value without seeking the spotlight.

At Focus, Jess is a trusted part of the core team, providing the kind of consistent, behind-the-scenes support that allows both colleagues and clients to feel confident that nothing will be missed.

Ruth Grinonneau- Business Operational Specialist

Ruth is the person you want when precision and organisation matter most. She brings a rare mix of exceptional attention to detail, proactive problem-solving and calm efficiency that ensures nothing slips through the cracks.

Her background spans business management, executive support and operations oversight- giving her the skills to keep systems running smoothly and teams working with confidence.
