Focus began as The VA Workroom, supporting small-to-medium businesses with administration, marketing and operations. Over time, it became clear that many of our clients thought and worked differently- in fact, many of the business owners we work with think and operate differently from traditional corporate models.
Rather than trying to make people “fit” traditional business models, we leaned into what we do best: creating systems that adapt to how people actually work. This thinking now underpins everything we do- from supporting individual business owners through to working alongside founders, CEOs and leadership teams within more established businesses.
This approach grew into our consultancy services and, ultimately, into our structured two-step pathway: clarity through review, growth through partnership and sustainability through ongoing operations.
Recognising the need for informed, thoughtful support, Emma has collaborated with organisations such as ADHD.uk, contributing operational insight and supporting business owners who benefit from structured systems.
That collaboration continues today, strengthening our commitment to building businesses that support focus, clarity and long-term sustainability- for people with a wide range of working styles, leadership approaches and business responsibilities.

With a background in sales, executive support and business management, she founded Focus to help founders strengthen operations, sharpen focus and build businesses that scale with confidence.
Over the years, Emma has supported a diverse range of clients- including founders from a wide range of industries and leadership styles. She has honed an approach that builds structure around strengths, turning strategic thinking into decisive execution. Working alongside professionals across different sectors has strengthened her ability to design systems that work in the real world.
At the heart of her work is a belief that any business idea can succeed- if the owner is aligned with their vision. Emma works with the person before the process, helping business owners define the direction they want to lead. Jess brings over 20 years of experience in business administration, ensuring structure, organisation and day-to-day execution remain consistent and reliable.
Her strength lies in creating order within complex workloads- managing schedules, coordinating activity and maintaining accurate oversight of the details that keep a business functioning effectively.
With a sharp eye for process and a proactive approach to delivery, Jess ensures commitments are followed through and priorities stay organised.
At Focus, she plays a vital role in maintaining administrative precision, providing the dependable structure that allows both clients and colleagues to operate confidently.
Ruth is the person you want when precision and organisation matter most. She brings a rare mix of exceptional attention to detail, proactive problem-solving and disciplined efficiency that ensures nothing slips through the cracks.
Her background spans business management, executive support and operations oversight- giving her the skills to keep systems operating with precision and teams working with confidence.
