REPLACING LAST-MINUTE GUESSWORK WITH A PROPER PLAN.

Trade Show Preparation — Brabantia

THE SITUATION:

Trade show stands were typically set up on the day itself, with stock grabbed as needed rather than planned in advance.

THE CHALLENGE:

Focus: Time and effort went into solving problems on the day rather than preparing ahead of it.

Systems: No process existed to plan stand layout against available stand size or product dimensions, and no record of what stock had actually been taken.

People: Without a plan to work from, set-up and take-down relied on individuals figuring it out in the moment rather than following a shared reference.

THE APPROACH:

Worked out the stand size and product dimensions, then built a stand plan - mapping exactly what stock would be needed and where it would go- using a simple spreadsheet.

THE OUTCOME:

Stock could be checked accurately before and after the event. Set-up and take-down became faster and more straightforward, working from a clear plan rather than starting from scratch each time.

This idea was later developed further by the business into a more visual planning tool - evolving from the original approach.

This example reflects earlier operational experience, and the same thinking now underpins the work delivered through Emma Baker Focus.
